1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup of sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp of salt
2 tsp of almond extract
1/2 cup of slivered almonds
1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
Procedures: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a bowl, beat the eggs until light. Gradually add sugar, and beat until thick and lemon colored.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together into a separate bowl, and fold into egg mixture. Add almond extract, nuts, and apple, and fold in gently.
Pour batter into an ungreased 8-inch square pan, bake for 25 minutes. Let it cool in a pan.
